Why did the Lib Media Join the Chorus singing Huckabee's Praises???Hmmm
Praise! Praise! Praise!
Could it be true? Has the main stream, "drive by", liberal media finally found the LIGHT?
Is it possible that they now support such an open, bible quoting, public display of Christianity?
Do they really embrace the "submissive, subservient" role of wives' to their husband's?
I know it seems like a stretch, that there was a mass conversion of the PC, liberal media, while nobody was looking, but that appears to have occurred. At least if you watch, listen or read any media accounts of the GOP Presidential Race, it would seem so. They apparently, have found their salvation in, Mike Huckabee, who now proudly wears the liberal seal of approval.
I guess, I too, missed the ordination service....until on Jan. 11th, when I watching the way Left, PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, (I confess, I was the one), post NH debate/ pre Michigan election, coverage.
The topic of discussion: Mike Huckabee's previous public ad (going out to the public at large, not his private congregation) that "wives, should submit to their husbands...."
To my utter shock & awe, instead of scrutiny, Huckabee's comments were met with light hearted laughter....not outrage (but isn't that the normal lib response to that kind of declaration?).
Then, they fawned over Huckabee's response: that what he actually meant (by a wife's submissive role), is that "it goes both ways..........".They warmly laughed and Huckubee added, "You should talk to my wife if you think she's submissive," and the entire group, the PBS group, laughingly responded, " And that brought down the house." ha ha ha .
Then, the newly enamored, David Brooks, blissfully concluded, "And ......that was a great moment. And so I'm continually reminded that Mike Huckabee has the potential to connect, I think, broader than what he's connected with so far."
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!
It's time that republicans stop eating the poison apple! After, 7 years of constant mocking & ridicule of our GOP President, GOP Leaders & GOP Ideals, by all things media, are we really so desperate for approval, that we take this new found praise, at face value, no questions asked, no sources considered?
Give me a break! These are the same people that think that our 13 year old daughters should have access to free abortions, without needing to even notify us "parents". These are the same people that think that a cross on the side of a freeway, bearing the name of a fallen police officer, is NOT keeping the proper separation of church & state and how dare we even think about "forcing" elementary children to say the "insensitive" Pledge of Allegiance" !
And yet, we republicans, are so quick, so desperate for approval, that we whole heartedly believe that the Praise of Mike Huckabee, being shouted from every media roof top, is sincere? Besides, I'm sure they are just trying to help us "mis-guided" Republicans, choose the best nominee for our Party....you know... for the good of our party and country the love. YEAH RIGHT!
So, how would this race look: Hillary vs. Huckabee? Hillary: Strong, experienced, intelligent, tough, well spoken ...oh yeah...and she's a "wife",I mean a woman. I wonder if she too, will blissfully laugh away Huckabee's loving explanation of the "role of woman"? Hmmmmmmmmmm.
How does Huck look then? Would the GOP have a shot at the Presidency with our good ol' boy, Huck, as nominee? Would Huck have the ability to bring over any democratic or independent voters?
With Huckabee's overall record on everything else republican: illegal immigration/amnesty, taxes, federal power over states' rights, soft on crime (over 1000 pardons) and complete lack of real world or foreign affairs experience.... Will he even be able to motivate regular republicans to the polls? Would Huck be able to motivate actual republicans to give him, much needed cash? That brings me to my next point....Here's where they stand now:
Hillary Total Cash Raised: $90,935,788
Huckabee Total Cash Raised: $ 2,345,798
No, I didn't forget a digit. Hmmmmmmmm? Imagine this, if we conservatives to were able to choose the ideal Democratic nominee to run against...who would it be? How does Dennis Kucinich sound? He is firm in his convictions....he isn't tainted by big money and special interest groups plus, he has a true a grassroots base..... blah, blah, blah. Get the Point?
The lib media must be very "optimistic" about Huckabee's "abilities".......or.......... I'd think they are just tryin' to sabotage the GOP. That could be it though..........Right?
We need to get real. This isn't a single issue race....
and we're not running against an Al Gore or John Kerry this time around. We need to put the best, all around, effective candidate, that has what it takes to actually beat the Dems that we will be running against.
We need to ask ourselves:
Who Can Really Go the Distance and WIN the White House?
Who has the resources?
Who is a consistent, energetic, effective & communicator (and doesn't look too old, too grouchy or too inexperienced)?
Who can answer the country's call for "change", and the wide spread disgust for all things Washington (we are all sick & tired of DC waste & ineffectiveness)?
Who really has the common sense, real world, business experience to fix the real complex economic problems: Trade Issues, China, Balance Budget, Drastically Cut Spending, Stream Line Programs, Waste & Pork, SSI, Job Creation, Making the USA the place you WANT to locate your business in, again....
So who does that sound like?
